The iPhone- Future Of Mobile Or Fraudulent Flop?

Unless you live under a rock, you know that the Apple iPhone is very popular today. People lined up and stood for hours to get them when they first came out, and Apple had trouble even keeping them in stock. Now, the demand has slowed down. But there's still a lot of people who want them. And there are a lot of people who are complaining about the problems that they're having with them. Sure, some people will complain about anything, but a lot of these people have legitimate reasons to gripe.

Dropped calls, poor Internet service and other problems have plagued these poor phones since they first came out. The cause might be a chipset. The important questions are: what is Apple doing to repair these problems? And can Apple recover from all the bad press?

Apple isn't making itself look very good right now. There's talk of a recall and that's just about all the talking Apple is doing. The words of the day seem to be "no comment." Even on Apple's own Website, there have been a lot of complaints – one might even say a staggering number, but Apple has still remained silent. The company won't answer questions, even when ABC News tried to get to the bottom of the problem. Most of the issue comes from the "Twice as fast, half the price" slogan that the new generation iPhone has. Sure, it was half the price, but it's not even half as fast…when it works at all.

So, can the iPhone really be fixed, or is everything that Apple is trying just a shot in the dark? No one really knows for sure, but most are leaning to that 'shot in the dark' theory. Some of them go so far as to suggest that's what should happen to the people who invented the iPhone and put it on the market before it actually worked. If that's not enough, the patch that Apple put out there to correct the connectivity problems actually made them worse for a select, lucky bunch of users. We can only imagine how happy that made them. After all, they were already thrilled with their iPhone reception anyway.

The way to fix the connection problems, allegedly, is with software.  Sure,  Ok. As we've seen, the last software patch made the connection problems worse for a lot of people. There's no evidence that it fixed the problem all the others. Some things just stayed the same, rendering the software – and the iPhone – pointless unless you like expensive and technologically-advanced paper weights.

Forums and comments and blog posts about the iPhone are filled with a few interspersed happy people among the complainers. These happy, 'no complaints' people are few and far between, however, and the people who aren't pleased are much more numerous. There are even blog posts asking people specifically whether there are problems with their iPhones or if they have received software patches and downloads that have actually done more good than harm.

People should have been suspicious from the very start. There weren't enough iPhones available, there were 647 people in line before them and they stood in line for 12 hours anyway. Then they found out that they couldn't activate their phone because of one of 28 different software glitches and/or activation problems. Nice. The amazing thing is that Apple hasn't done anything to help these people out. No discounts on services, no real apologies, no nothing. For now, it looks like Apple is leaning more toward fraudulent fraud than the future of mobile. Unfortunately, if Apple doesn’t take action soon, this might be their fate.
